You Can’t Fix an Internal Problem With an External Solution—But You Can Use Both to Your Advantage

Let’s Be Real…

No amount of makeup, skincare, or external glow-up is going to fix what’s broken inside. You can have the best foundation, the perfect skincare routine, and lashes that make people do a double take—but if your mindset is trash, you’re still going to feel like shit.

I know because I’ve been there.

For YEARS, I thought I just needed to “look better” to feel better. That if I just lost weight, had flawless skin, or dressed a certain way, all my self-doubt and trauma would magically disappear. Surprise: it fucking didn’t.

Why? Because confidence is an inside job.

BUT—and this is where most people get it fucked up—taking care of yourself on the outside absolutely does impact how you feel on the inside.

The key is knowing how to use both internal work and external care as a power move instead of a band-aid.

Healing Isn’t Just Mindset Work—It’s Rituals, Too

Here’s the savage truth: You can do all the affirmations, journaling, and trauma healing in the world, but if you’re still treating yourself like an afterthought, what message are you sending to yourself?

When you prioritize yourself externally—whether it’s skincare, self-care, or even just putting on that BOLD AF lip —you’re reinforcing the idea that you’re worth the effort. That’s what shifts your energy.

I’m not here to tell you that skincare alone will heal your trauma. That’s bullshit. But I will tell you this:

  • Your habits reflect your self-worth. The way you take care of yourself (or don’t) tells your brain how much you believe you’re worth investing in.
  • When you start treating yourself like a priority, your mindset shifts. And when your mindset shifts, everything else follows.
  • Rituals—like skincare and makeup—can be a tool for stepping into your power. They’re not about “fixing” yourself; they’re about showing up for yourself.

This is exactly why my coaching and Limelife go hand in hand. I help women rewrite their stories, break free from trauma and limiting beliefs, and build lives they’re actually excited about. And part of that process? Showing up for themselves daily—inside and out.

How to Start Your Own “Soft & Savage” Transformation

If you’re done playing small and ready to step the fuck into your power, here’s where you start:

  1. Get Honest About Your Bullshit

What story have you been telling yourself? That you’re not enough? That you’ll never be successful? That confidence is for “other” women? Call yourself out and call yourself IN. You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge.

  1. Build a Ritual That Reinforces Your Worth

For me, it’s skincare and self-care—taking time every morning to set the tone for my day, not rushing out the door like a chaotic mess. Maybe for you, it’s a morning routine, journaling, or just putting on an outfit that makes you feel unstoppable. Find something that reminds you who the fuck you are.

  1. Do the Work—Inside and Out

Healing isn’t just mindset work. It’s action. It’s treating yourself like the powerful woman you are. It’s investing in yourself in every way—mentally, emotionally, physically, financially. It’s looking in the mirror and knowing that you’re a walking masterpiece in progress.
